How to use the calculator?

This calculator allows the installer to estimate the payback period and profit over the life of the installation. The calculator takes into account prices in different tariffs and compares a photovoltaic installation without energy storage and a photovoltaic installation with an energy storage with a capacity of 5 kWh connected by the Breeze PV Retrofit device from Breeze Energies

Set parameters on the sliders

On the slider with the average daily energy consumption, set your average daily consumption.

  • Standard values for single-family houses without electric heating and car charging are in the range of 5 kWh to 15 kWh.
  • If you have electric heating and air conditioning, these values can be up to twice as high.

On the peak power slider of the PV system, set the planned power of the photovoltaic system from the installer’s offer. You can also set it to optimize your profits and payback period.

Interpretation of results

On the graph with the consumption and production curve, you can keep an eye on what the power taken from the grid and produced by the installation will look like in individual hours. You can also check how it changes in each month of the year.

On the bar charts, you will get the value (in PLN) of annual variable fees for electricity collected from the grid for different tariffs and types of installations.

In the profitability calculator at the end, you can enter the planned cost of the investment and check when it will pay off and how much you will earn on it over the life of the installation.

ASSUMPTIONS FOR CALCULATIONS

  1. Calculations of prices in tariffs have been made for fees for PGE’s distributor, taking into account the increase planned for 10/2025
  2. Energy cost calculations take into account active energy charges and other variable charges depending on the number of kilowatt hours drawn from the network. They do not take into account fixed fees.
  3. The daily load for each month of the year was determined on the basis of the energy price curve on the TGE market, bearing in mind that it reflects the average demand for electricity.
  4. The individual load curve of the house may differ from the one adopted in the calculations, which may affect the payback period of the installation.
  5. The subsidy in the Mój prąd 6.0 program does not cover installations without energy storage, so only a photovoltaic installation with Breeze PV Retrofit and Breeze storage includes the subsidy.

What is a Breeze PV Retrofit and why is it better than a standard hybrid inverter solution?

Why is it better than a standard hybrid inverter solution?

  • Breeze PV Retrofit is a proprietary energy conversion device developed and manufactured by a Polish technology company – Breeze Energies Sp. z o. o.
  • Breeze PV Retrofit is the only device on the market that allows you to connect an energy storage system to an installation with an on-grid inverter (some call it a string inverter) without using an additional inverter or replacing it.
  • Connecting an energy storage system via a Breeze PV Retrofit is much simpler and cheaper than using an additional inverter.
  • It turns out that building a new installation based on an on-grid inverter with a Breeze PV Retrofit device and Breeze energy storage is cheaper than using a hybrid inverter, and besides, it allows you to take advantage of the advantages and safety of a low-voltage energy storage with any inverter.
