Short description of the project: The result of the project is the creation of a prototype of an innovative hybrid energy power bank cooperating with off-grid photovoltaic installations. The power bank will be a combination of lead-acid batteries (due to the low price) and lithium-ion batteries (due to the high durability and high power). The batteries will be connected using an electronic power system enabling smooth control of their charging and significant improv. of their operating parameters. Planned to develop. power bank is an innovation on a global scale, and at the same time a breakthrough in the market of renewable energy and distributed generation of electricity. The goal of the project will be achieved through the implementation of industrial research in the scope of work of the algorithm controlling the energy distribution of two DC circuits coupled by means of bi-directional control. DC / DC converters and implement. of pre-prototype hybrid powerbank. As part of development work, a building is planned. prototype. The project will also carry out development work on the develop. and testing of hybrid energy storage technologies. The main goal of the technology being developed is to increase the durability of energy storage used in island installations (without connection to the grid) to create a prototype. Currently, the most commonly used power banks are built of lead-acid batteries. However, their durability is very low (150 to 500 charging and discharging cycles, which translates into a life expectancy of 1.5 to 4 years). Lithium-ion batteries are a much more durable solution (1000- to 2000 charging cycles) and discharge). However, their cost is about 3 times higher than for lead-acid batteries. By using both batteries connected in a hybrid system and properly regulating the charging and discharging current, you can reduce the factors accelerating battery degradation. As a consequence, it is possible to obtain an energy store much cheaper than lithium-ion, but with similar durability.
